Little bit of a different bump photo this week, but it's an angle I love looking at so thought I would share it. So tomorrow, I am officially at term. 37 weeks. How on earth did that date arrive here so quickly? If I was to give birth tomorrow, it means that Peanut would have less of a chance of problems which is very reassuring. My 36th week of pregnancy has been a hard one though, to say the least. I had a bit of a meltdown on the phone to Dan yesterday, and I rung him and just sobbed at how tired I am and how uncomfortable I am. People say that the final few weeks are the hardest, and they're definitely right. I'm just looking forward to meeting Peanut now - the final 3 weeks can roll on!
How far along? 36+6 weeks (I tend to post these updates at the end of the week so I'm nearly a week ahead from 36 weeks now!)
How big is baby? Apparently, baby is now the size of a romaine lettuce!
Gender: Unknown - I really cannot wait to meet our little one and find out whether we're Team Pink or Team Blue now!
Bump: Still as high as ever - no change there then! My bump is also still pretty lopsided at times which makes me laugh, especially when I'm in the bath!
Movement: Active as ever - this baby likes to give me a real pummelling, which at times can be quite uncomfortable now baby is relatively big. However, it will always be the most reassuring feeling so Peanut can carry on kicking away at me!
Weight gain: Not a clue! All I know is that I'm still able to wear pretty much all of my normal clothes and haven't gone up sizes.
Maternity clothes: I've only bought 3 pairs of jeans and 2 dresses so far in maternity clothes. I also finally invested in some maternity tights for work and my GOSH what a dream they are. The comfort is real. Definitely one of the best things I've spent my money on in regards to being pregnant.
Sleep: Utterly awful. I'm feeling more tired than ever and don't seem to sleep at all anymore. It's just too uncomfortable and along with getting up at least 4 times in the night to go to the loo, I'm pretty much a zombie all the time. Not good but something I'm definitely used to now.
Best moment this week: Setting up the Moses basket. Our families are superstitious and believe you shouldn't have the Moses basket or the pram in the house until babies arrival. However, now I'm pretty much 37 weeks and I've been suffering with pre-term labour pains, we thought it would be a good time to air the basket out and wash the bedding.
Worst moment this week: Pre-term labour pains. I haven't been howling out in pain at all which I'm pleased about (my hypnotherapy training has done wonders with being able to breath through the pain) but I have sobbed my way through some of them. Last Sunday, after yet another nights sleep, I lay on my side sobbing because baths, paracetamol and hot water bottles were doing nothing to help the pain. Dan is good at giving me massages as well which does sometimes help. It's obviously a sign of things to come so it's good practise!
Cravings: Still cloudy apple juice and coco pops.
Belly button: Very much still an innie! I'm starting to wonder if it will ever pop out like most people's do?
Engagement ring on/off: Sometimes on and sometimes off - it depends on what I've been doing that day.
Mood: Tired. For the first time in this pregnancy, I actually said 'I'm too tired to be pregnant anymore' but I need to focus on the fact that I'm on the home stretch now!
Missing anything: Sleeping on my tummy - I never appreciated it as much as I do now I'm pregnant!
