Baby Bumpdate - 35 weeks pregnant

10 February 2017

Who can spot the lurker in this week's bump photo? Yes there he is, little Max making an appearance. He seems to have no idea what's going on or that I have a little baby inside of me, but wants in on the bump photos. Cheeky moo. It's crazy that 10 weeks ago, I didn't have a bump, and now look at me! There is no mistaking that I'm pregnant! Although sometimes, I still feel like I just have a massive food baby. Everyone's bumps are different and unique, and mine has been very small and neat with no definitive point so to speak. I'm already wondering if I'll ever get used to not having a bump once Peanut is here, but I know I will. I'm just trying to enjoy the last few weeks the best that I can, even though they are dragging massively!

How far along? 35+6 weeks (I tend to post these updates at the end of the week so I'm nearly a week ahead from 35 weeks now!)

How big is baby? Apparently, baby is now the size of a honeydew melon!

Gender: Unknown - I really cannot wait to meet our little one and find out whether we're Team Pink or Team Blue now!

Bump: Guess what...STILL no sign of dropping! I'm starting to wonder whether Peanut is going to stay high up forever! Ok, we know that isn't going to happen but it certainly feels like it at the moment! Peanut is also lying completely on my left hand side, so my bump is actually starting to look really lopsided. It's so bizarre to look at!

Movement: Active, active, active! I'm very lucky that I haven't had any scares with reduced movement at all, and Peanut continues to dance around inside me as normal. My ribs are still getting a good kicking and Dan has been getting punched in the back when we're lying in bed. Such a funny sensation!

Weight gain: Not a clue! All I know is that I'm still able to wear pretty much all of my normal clothes and haven't gone up sizes.

Maternity clothes: I've only bought 3 pairs of jeans and 2 dresses so far in maternity clothes. I also finally invested in some maternity tights for work and my GOSH what a dream they are. The comfort is real. Definitely one of the best things I've spent my money on in regards to being pregnant.

Sleep: I'm working from home now, so the fact that I can sleep in that little bit later than normal is finally doing some good for my sleep pattern. Dan gets up for work at 04:30am, so once he's gone, I can usually get at least 2 more hours decent sleep which is massively helping. I'm still up at least 4 times in the night to go to the loo though - nothing I can do to stop it when baby is pressing like crazy against my bladder!

Best moment this week: My baby shower! It was an absolutely amazing day and I felt so lucky to have so many of my closest friends and family all in one room with me, celebrating the imminent arrival of Peanut. If you missed that post, you can read about it here.

Worst moment this week: The pain you feel when your ligaments are stretching. It honestly feels like my skin is super tight and it's being stretched to its maximum. This is just where Peanut is starting to manoeuvre lower into my pelvis but MAN it hurts! Every time I get up from sitting down it's like wowwww that feels delightful. Naaat.

Cravings: Still cloudy apple juice and coco pops.

Belly button: Very much still an innie! I'm starting to wonder if it will ever pop out like most people's do?

Engagement ring on/off: For the first time this pregnancy, my rings are now off and it's actually pretty heartbreaking. I can still get the rings on and off, but my fingers were swelling earlier this week and I didn't want to run the risk of having them cut off like a lot of women have to. I've done quite well though - lots of women can't wear their rings past 20 weeks!

Mood: Just excited really! I just kinda want to get the show on the road and meet this little Peanut now!

Missing anything: Sleeping on my tummy - I never appreciated it as much as I do now I'm pregnant!

Looking forward to seeing/reading about him/her when they arrive! My boyfriend and I have just started trying for a baby this year and reading your updates is particularly exciting and motivating.
