Before I start doing my helpful WDW tips and tricks posts, I thought I'd do The Disney Tag as it's a lovely way to remember happy times. I tag you all and I'd love you to do this also!
The Circle of Life scene from The Lion King. It's one of the best openings of any film ever and to be surrounded by all the animals would just be incredible!
2. Name an unforgettable experience you've had at one of the parks.
Oh this is a difficult question to answer, as every time I go I have a new amazing experience! I think our private balcony for Illuminations at EPCOT was pretty incredible as it was just so personal to my family. Another unforgettable memory was finding out we were staying at the Disneyland Hotel at DLP as a surprise. I cried with happiness whilst checking in - true story.
3. What non-Disney song(s) reminds you or brings back memories of the parks?
All of the Christmas songs, 100%. I'm usually at DLP every December with my best friend to wish Mickey and Co a very Merry Christmas, and walking down Main Street USA hearing the bells and festivities is just the highlight of my Christmas!
4. When was the first time you went to a Disney park?
July 1995 when I was 5 years old and my brother was 2 and a half. My parents had wanted to wait until my younger brother was old enough to experience sounds and sights, and I remember being there so well. We stayed at Disney's All Star Resort and I remember loving the piano and guitar shaped pools (the musician in me!) and the theming around the resort. I was already a Disney fanatic at this point so it really did install in me my love for the mouse and the magic.
5. If you could choose any of the characters to be your best friend, who would it be?
Well as a Princess myself (obviously), you'd already find me hanging out with my girls Ariel, Belle, Cinderella and Co etc. I would actually love to be friends with the cast of Finding Nemo and explore the Great Barrier Reef. Lets face it, Dory would only be the best fun wouldn't she!
6. Who are your favourite Disney Princesses?
I dislike this question as I like them all for so many different reasons, and I can identify that all of the Princesses have their good qualities, and naive qualities. I will always love Ariel, Belle and Rapunzel for being dreamers, but give them so much respect for actually chasing their dreams!
7. Name a scene in any Disney movie that never fails to make you cry.
When King Triton decides he's going to give Ariel legs and says he's going to miss her. It's when Ariel whispers 'I love you Daddy' that gets me bawling it. And of course, how can I not mention when Mufasa dies in The Lion King. Mufasa was the first protagonist in any Disney film to be killed off and it did rock the boat a little bit when the film came out.
8. What is the first Disney film you have memories of seeing?
My long term memory is incredibly good, and I remember sitting in our villa in the south of Spain watching Dumbo, specifically the Pink Elephants on Parade scene (the scariest scene ever!). I was two years old and it's one of my earliest memories.
9. What is your favourite Disney film?
This question I find impossible to answer. All of the films have different vibes, different atmospheres and different things to learn from. I could honestly sit down and watch any Disney film at any time, but much like anything else, they do still vary with your mood that day. Every character has their own story to tell, and I love them all for so many varying reasons..even the villains! I think that's actually one of the things that I love about Disney so much. There is no defining 'yes this is my favourite film' because they all give me so much escapism. And I love that so much.
