Yep..I'm one of those people who celebrate their animals birthday, and I'm not ashamed to shout about it. In our family, our animals are just as much a part of the family unit as any human - they're more than 'just a pet' and we're firm believers in including our pets in as much as we can, which is usually why Max goes pretty much everywhere with me if I'm able to take him. As a lot of you will remember from this post, Max had a pretty awful start to his life - I don't know about you, but I don't think being abandoned at the side of a road in a bin liner would ever be enjoyable. Since I rehomed him two years ago, I've made it one of my goals to make sure he always has the best life in as many ways possible that you can imagine, and his 3rd birthday wasn't any different.
The morning started off with giving him his new collar - he's totally unaware how on trend he looks right now (a good fashion move from me). We then headed for a rainy walk down the River Wey so Max could have a good run, bark at the ducks and wear himself out a little. After I got home from work later that day, I gave him a special birthday treat dinner of a nice bowl of chicken - lip smacking good so he told me! Later that evening, Gemma came round with her little Maltipoo (Maltese cross Toy Poodle) called Meeko, and they had a little party together. Whilst we sipped prosecco, Max and Meeko played tug of war for hours on end and proceeded in getting out every toy that Max owned. They honestly played so much it was incredibly difficult to get a decent photo!
I'm pretty certain Max had a lovely birthday. I can't believe he's 3 already - time is flying with him and I just don't want him to grow up!
