BC Bonacure Colour Freeze collection from Schwarzkopf

15 February 2012

Yesterday, I was thrilled to have been invited to have a treatment or colour at the Schwarzkopf Academy to experience yesterday's launch of Schwarzkopf's new BC Bonacure Colour Freeze collection. I had the gorgeous Anita Cox McMillan styling my hair and explaining to me the new products. Now, as a girl who has been having her hair salon dyed since she was 12, I'm always trying to prolong the colour, beat the dryness and split ends etc, so this collection sounded wonderful when I was talked through it. I was greeted with cupcakes from Hummingbird Bakery, fruit, sandwiches, heart balloons (going all out for Valentines Day!) and some lovely champagne, and we decided I'd have a t-section roots highlights treatment and use the new products.

In the collection we have (which are all in the photo above):

*Colour Shine Shampoo (£9.75)
Sulphate-Free Shampoo (£9.75)
Colour Freeze Silver Shampoo (£9.75)
Colour Freeze Conditioner (£10.95)
*Spray Leave In Conditioner (£10.95)
*Colour Freeze Treatment (£12.35)
*Thermo Protect Cream (£12.35)
*Coloured Ends Balm (£12.35
Post-Colour Shine Service (available in salons only)

The products that Anita used on me are the ones with the stars. All of these items are heavily fragranced. Someone even commented on the tube how nice smelling my hair was! It's very salon-smelling, sweetly perfumed, but I love my hair to smell divine so this works for me. Even this morning as I'm writing this I keep catching the smell of my hair and it's as strong as it was yesterday! Anita decided to use the 'Colour Freeze Treatment' on my hair instead of the conditioner. This treatment could be compared to any leave in treatment, but it works on a completely different level. You can use this treatment for a 10minute quick bath time luxury, or even 30 minutes, but Anita recommended leaving the treatment in overnight, sleeping with your head on a towel, and washing it out the next morning (in which you'd then do your usual shampooing/conditioning routine.) After having this on my head for 10 minutes, I could totally feel a difference in my hair. It was softer, smoother and felt like it had been moisturised from tip to root.

Awful photo of me..but this is the lovely Anita Cox McMillan

When brushing through my hair after the wash, Anita used the Leave In Conditioner - it's a gorgeous bright pink formula which you shake, spray and brush through, like most leave in conditioners. Again, it was super fragranced (which I love) but my tangles were gone with one comb through. It seemed to beat my Aussie Leave In Conditioner hands down on that one! Anita ran through a little bit of the Thermo Protect Cream, as we were blow-drying my hair, and after my hair was dried, used a little of the Coloured Ends Balm to help seal my hair, give a little bit of texture to the ends, and also prevent split ends.

So what makes these products so fantastic? Schwarzkopf have used a new formula in which Amino Cell Rebuild Technology helps to optimise colour protection, and the Ionic Shine Booster Complex which contains glossing oil gives your hair the shine you want for it. As I've listed above, the products aren't even that expensive, and for salon treatments, I think this is brilliant. My item of the day was definitely either the Spray Leave In Conditioner, or the Colour Freeze Treatment.

If you'd like to purchase any of these items, Hair Supermarket, Look Fantastic and Feel Unique are now stockists. I think I'm going to be a regular buyer of some of these items, especially the Treatment and the Leave In Conditioner. Many thanks to Anita Cox McMillan for being such a fab stylist..I recommend her to you all if you're in London!
