unnamed sparkle

31 December 2011

One of my Christmas presents was this gorgeous make-up brush. I have absolutely no idea where it's from. It had no label or anything..just came wrapped up in a lovely box. If anyone could enlighten me as to where its from (if you happen to have seen it before) then I'd love to know! I haven't used it yet (partly cos it's just so pretty!) but I would love to know a little bit about it too. It's absolutely gorgeous with the pink studded diamontes and the dusted pink hairs. It's very me..I must admit!

Did you ladies get any new brushes for Christmas?

30 December 2011

I went out to a family friends birthday cocktail party last night (many cocktails were drunk..lushness!), thus it was time to don the Eylure specials as ever. Keeping up with my love for the 'Naturalites' range, I went for that, going for the 'Evening Wear' style this time. These are just fab because they are slightly fuller than the 'Super Full' lashes I featured on my last FOTD.

Foundation: Lancome Teint Miracle in 010
Powder: MAC Loose Powder in Natural Flare

Blush: Nars 'Sin'
Eyeshadow: Accessorize 'Freya'
Mascara: Collection 2000 Skyscraper
Lips: MAC Pervertte

Lashes: Eylure Naturalites Evening Wear

Apologies for the terrible photo of the lashes in their box. Somehow they got completely squashed in the bag on the way back from Boots :( The Naturalites really are becoming my fave range from Eylure at the moment. They're just so wearable for any occasion, and you never look too over the top.

Anyhow, it sure is nice to be blogging after a week of a Christmas break. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying all your pressies. I certainly am loving mine!

an 'aussome' delivery!

20 December 2011

When the front doorbell buzzed this morning and I was standing half in my pyjamas/half in leggings having not brushed my hair yet, I didn't expect DHL to be delivering a parcel to me at all. Mum and I were all confused as I knew I hadn't ordered anything for myself that would be coming from DHL. This is what was inside:

How AMAZING can you get?! Absolute ginormous massive endless love goes to my fav Abby for thinking of me and getting the fabulous Aussie to send me this brill bag of goodies. I have yet to buy one of their new big bottles, and now I'm beyond excited. I absolutely adore the Colour Mate shampoo (need to look after the blondielocks) and I'd run out of the Take the Heat 3 Minute Miracle treatment, so I feel seriously loved and lucky right now. My Aussie needs have been replenished :)

Go spam Abby with love and thanks. She's a babe. Thank you Abby <3 I love surprise parcels!

Make-up Secrets of 'Downton Abbey'

Downton Abbey has become one of my favourite programmes on tv. ITV scored an absolute blinder with this show in my eyes, and I adore so many of the characters and the storylines that keep me ever gripped to the tv screen. After watching series 2, I began scouring the internet about information on the make-up they used on the programme - the actresses skin always looks so flawless and natural...me like! Fortunately, in last weeks You magazine, I came across the article I'd been looking for and thought I'd share with you my findings in an interview with Downton Abbey make-up artist Ann Oldham:

Complexion: Le Blanc de Chanel primer (£29) followed by Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (£33). -Apparently, this creates the illusion of immaculate skin and that 'pale foundation highlights dark shadows' so Ann used one shade darker than their natural skin tone.

Blush: Stila Raspberry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain (£16) - This is apparently used on Lady Grantham's (Elizabeth McGovern) cheeks and lips to enhance natural pinkness and not over-do the rosy effect.

Eyes: No such products mentioned, but the actresses are encouraged to grow their eyebrows so they 'frame the eyes naturally', and they also have their eyelashes dyed.

Fragrance: Yardley Lily of the Valley eau de toilette (£9.99) - I love the fact the ladies wear a fragrance on set. I can imagine it really enhances their perception of the character they play, and really helps them get into the role.

Cleanser: Sisley Demaquillant Doux Pour les Yeux (£40.50) - Ann states that they must cleanse the faces after 11 hours on set with full make-up on. She also says that after cleansing, they 'drop lavender oil on to a warm face flannel to soothe their complexions.'

So there you have it. Inside information from the make-up artist herself . All credit goes to You magazine for the information..I just wanted to share it with you all :) Also, how utterly fabulously gorgeous do Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens look in the above photo?! They recently did a 'Twilight-esque' photoshoot, and my GOD they look amazing! I've linked to all the products mentioned, and I'm now very interested in buying the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation after watching some reviews on YouTube! I will certainly be watching the Downton Abbey special on Christmas Day...I can't wait!

red cup

19 December 2011

So it's only 6 sleeps till Christmas. Only SIX. I'm sorry but where did December go?! It's absolutely flying by. It's been a great month so far though and I'm really feeling the Christmas love and spirit, especially now we're officially on Christmas week :) I've had a pretty busy week since I've been staying with my parents. Shopping here and there, I went to my old school's carol service which was lovely, lunch with my uncle and mum, a family friends birthday, and yesterday, I even made a flying visit back down to Plymouth for just one night with the Sailor. I know..crazy considering I've just come back from the South West, but one night means a lot to us, so one night it was. Dinner, hotel, chilling and just generally having fun. We even managed to get a cosy sofa spot in Starbucks in Drake Circus this morning (which is a rarity!) as he had this morning off work. Nothing better than a snuggle, chat and Starbucks red cup to make your Monday morning good :) My Sailor finishes for Christmas fingers crossed on Thursday...so the Christmas celebrations can start to commence then :)

Tonight is about final present wrapping, spring cleaning (I know that sounds mental..but I like to keep on top of my items and find that before you receive new items is a good time to do it..I know..genius right.) ;) and snuggling with my dog.

How's all your Christmas shopping going?

fotd: snuggle bear

16 December 2011

Not essentially a make-up face of the day, as I'm not going to list the products I'm wearing (which isn't much today as I'm having a cleansing and toning day), but more of a 'this is me and my new hat of the day'. This is the hat I mentioned in my 'Foxy Baby' post earlier on this week. A student got me the hat as a Secret Santa present, and didn't she do well! It's absolutely massive and super warm and snuggly. Now the snow is finally starting to fall, it's my first go-to clothes item I think!

Does anyone else love cute animal style items?

This is also my 100th post on Little Glitter! I can't quite believe it, but thanks to all my followers for keeping me writing. I love my little bloggy! Snuggle up warm guys - snow has hit London! Happy Friday!

lock and key

15 December 2011

I'm pretty useless at buying myself jewellery. I find it very easy to stick to a couple of items which have been bought for me or mean something to me and never wear anything else, and as much as I like being minimalistic, it can get a bit boring sometimes wearing the same jewellery over and over. But when I was out with Abby last weekend, I decided to be brave and buy something new.

How cute are these? The earrings and ring are from good old Primark and I was pleasantly surprised that the ring was only £1 and the earrings 50p. Can you shout bargain anyone? This is the first double ring I've owned and I'm really enjoying wearing it actually. I absolutely adore the earrings though. It's nice having something so different as one long and one stud earring. I wore them today and I had a lot of compliments so that's always a bonus :) I'm going to make it a new thing that I build up my jewellery collection more! If you guys know of any online jewellery stores, link me up!

Christmas tag!

13 December 2011

I've seen this Christmas tag flying around the blogosphere for a couple of days now, and so thought I'd give it a go myself. You all know by now how much I love Christmas and the festivities, and I look forward to it every year, so this tag seems very much perfect for myself ;)

1.What is Your Favourite Holiday Movie?
Definitely 'The Muppets Christmas Carol'. I don't think anything beats it!

2. Whats Your Favourite Christmas Colour?
It's got to be the traditionals...red and gold with some glitter thrown in there too! Although recently, I've been liking the 'Winter Blues' that are going round teamed with silvers.

3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?
In my family, we open presents in PJs and then dress up for Christmas day (men in shirts and ties, ladies in cute dresses) so pretty formal. Although most years I'm at Church early in the morning so tend to be ready and dressed!

4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be?
This is a pretty difficult question, but I'd say my boyfriend. Christmas is special for us as he gets two weeks leave from the Royal Navy so we spend all our time together.
5. Do You Open Your Present Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
Christmas Day, for definite. I know a lot of people who have their Christmas Day on Christmas Eve, and then do it again on Christmas Day but without as many presents, but I definitely couldn't do that!

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
Yes! And in fact, I'm building one with my mum this week. She's bought a special Jamie Oliver accessory kit or something, so it's going to be fun doing that with her :)

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
I love all the trimmings that come with Christmas, from the shopping to the wrapping, from the cold weather to the great TV. For me, Christmas is all about spending it with the people you love, family and friends, going to Church , and of course having a good old drink up in the pub!
8. Any Christmas Wishes?
For my boyfriend to have a successful 18 months on his new ship, and that next Christmas, he's not away for it!

9. Favourite Christmas Smell?
Mum's oil burner with the Frankincense and Myrrh smells..so good.
10. Favourite Christmas Meal Or Treat?
Oh God I love all the food at Christmas so either the main Christmas dinner, orrrr the massive cheeseboard my Mum always gets out in the evening on Christmas Day. Every year we know we're full from dinner, and yet still eat the cheeseboard and then complain for a week after why we're so bloated haha! Gotta love Christmas!

Sleek Molten Metal

9 December 2011

Yesterday in Superdrug, I picked up an item I had been wanting to get for a while but never got round to buying. It's the Molten Metal Eyeshadow Duo from Sleek, and I got it in 'Pewter' (on the left) and 'Gold Leaf' (on the right).

Apologies for the bad light in the swatches. Winter light. Enough said. Typical Sleek packaging and a perfect size to pop in any makeup bag without taking up too much room. Perfect. I love golds and silvers at all times of the year, but throughout Christmas, there is no better time to wear a pop of glitter or shine, so I know these two shades will come in handy. 'Gold Leaf' is definitely a good name for the shade on the right. The pigmentation in it looks fab and really gives off the brassy gold you get with gold leaf. The 'Pewter' is also a good name, as it's slightly more tinny and has a bronze sheen to it. The texture of the cream shadow is soft and not too sticky like some cream shadows can be. The staying power seems to be quite good at first test but I reckon there will be some slippery creases along the way, but I will have to check that when I wear it tonight! It's my boarding house's Christmas formal dinner tonight, so I've got a new LBD to wear from Monsoon which is just lush, and I'm going to go all out on the makeup and lashes. Who says teaching staff can't look glam? ;) It's the last day of term at school today and I have teacher presents flying in all over the place. The festive cheer really is here and I'm loving it..but definitely can't wait for the holidays to start! One month..yes please!

Let me know what you think of the Molten Metal duos! I might get the silver duo if I like this gold one.

Christmas Jumpers - eBay picks

30 November 2011

Well, I currently have my Christmas playlist on in the background, donning the red cardigan with my dress today, and I thought it was only appropriate that I do my fave Christmas jumper finds from eBay. I'm a bit of an eBay queen and think it is an absolute goldmine for finding the things you need/fancy and often as a fraction of the price - win win situation! I came across a seller who is from the UK (no long waiting time for postage woohoo!) who had the best variety of Christmas jumpers!

If you don't mind treating these jumpers as unisex, then these are absolutely amazing, and lets face it - I'm sure we all wear mens jumpers...they're just so cosy and often hav the nicer designs! These are only 4 of the 18 variations this company has to offer. The reindeers are so cute, and I'm sure the penguins are going to go down well, especially with Frozen Planet being all the hype at the moment. They also have a couple of naughty rude reindeer jumpers and some snowman ones. The great news? These jumpers are £24.99. Considering lots of the similar jumpers in Topshop/Zara/River Island are over £30 at the moment, I think this is brilliant. Plus, they really have that old vintage feel to them which is bang on trend at the moment. Postage is only £2.99 too..winning!

So if you want to go all matching Bridget Jones and Mr Darcy this Christmas, maybe check out this seller. I'm thinking one of these jumpers, bodycon skirt, tights and Chelsea boots? Get buying ladies!

Faux Fur - Asos Picks

28 November 2011

I am a big fur person when it comes to accessories - partly because fur is so warming, but also because it's just so cute and snuggly, and can really change an outfit into something gorgeous and slightly more glam. I've picked 4 of my fave faux fur accessories from ASOS for this Winter.

Faux Fur Pointed Collar: Oh how I love this collar. It would be perfect for any outfit on top of a cardigan, jumper or a light coat. Plus, you neck would be nice and toasty in this cold weather we seem to be getting recently! Good news is it's £11. Bargain!

Premium Long Fantasy Fur Scarf: Talk about keeping snuggly warm in a nice scarf! The way that the scarf gathers as it falls is just beautiful. This would be perfect for a Christmas Day walk with the dogs, or as a gorgeous additive to a coat whilst on your way to a festive party of some sort. It's currently in the sale down from £40 to £30 also..great news!

Faux Fur Bear Ear and Pocket Scarf: For the more playful of people, this scarf could be perfect for you. The bear/rabbit/cute creature animal hats are everywhere at the moment (I have a bear one!) and they add a little bit of fun and cuteness to an outfit. So, incorporating a scarf with mitten style pockets into the hat is just a perfect solution. Cute cute cute! £26

Black Faux Fur Trapper Hat: I don't have much black fur items, but I am totally won over by this hat! It's meant to be oversized, so you can gurantee extra cosyness, and who wouldn't love this trapper hat with the pom poms hanging from it! I'm loving the hat more now it's in the sale too ;) £15

These are only four of my fave fur items this year - trust me! I could buy so many fur accessories it's silly. In fact, the lovely Abby managed to get her hands on a new faux fur coat I'd been after for ages for me, and so once I've seen her to pick it up, I will get a few outfit pics to show it off. I cannot wait to finally have it!

Link me up to your fave faux fur picks this winter..I am all eyes and ears! ALSO, it's advent now guys...hope you're all blasting the Christmas tunes nice and loud..I know I am ;)

Beverly Hills Formula

26 November 2011

Back in October at BINTM Live, along with many samples, I was given a sample of a toothpaste called 'Beverly Hill Formula.' Now I am constantly obsessed with getting my teeth crazy white (see my post last month on my whitening strips!) and so I tried this toothpaste before any other toothpastes, and also before I started my teeth whitening course.

Beverly Hills Formula was recently featured on BBC Watchdog stating that it removes 90% of staining on teeth. It sounds too good to be true doesn't it? As you can see, my sample tube is empty, and I haven't gone out and bought a new big tube for nothing. It really does work!!

Beverly Hills Formula says that you should smear some toothpaste on your teeth and leave it for around 1 minute before brushing. Within the first use, I could genuinely see a difference. The sample tube I had was the 'Sensitive Whitening Expert' type, and I had no sensitivity at all. Now, I generally brush my teeth at least twice a day, and I have found this to be the most effective 'whitening toothpaste' I have ever used. Not only this, but it leaves my breath nice and fresh, which is of course what we also want in a toothpaste. In the month I have been using the tester, I feel that the shade of my teeth has changed a lot. They are not crazy sparkly white (yet!) but they are definitely brighter and whiter. All the products are suitable for vegetarians, and they aren't tested on animals - win win!

I don't have any before and after photos to show you yet, as I'm waiting to finish my whitening strips course, but I hope to very soon. All I will say, is next time you're buying your toothpaste, please consider this product. I'd be interested to see your thoughts as I was very sceptical before, but I don't think I will ever use another toothpaste now! Generally, you can only purchase this in larger Tesco/Sainsburys/Superdrug/Boots stores, and admittedly it's not the cheapest of toothpastes, at almost £4 a tube, but when when you think of the cost of teeth whitening products, it really is cheap!

Let me know if any of you use it and have such great results like me!

YSL Paris

24 November 2011

In one of my recent posts, you may have seen my devoted love to my Chanel no.5 perfume. However, we always have that 'everyday' fragrance we reach for when we don't fancy our beloved, special favourites. For me, this is Yves Saint Laurent 'Paris'.

I remember my Mum first bought me this fragrance when I was about 14. I have been bound to it since. Launched in 1983, Paris has been one of those classic fragrances that will always be on someone's shelf. Photo'd here, I have the Eau de Toilette (as it was on offer in Boots) but all the bottles from the Eau de Parfum to this bottle are very art deco and striking. As I've mentioned in previous posts, I am rubbish when it comes to explaining base notes and heart notes and the like. To me, if it smells good and I like it, then I buy it! But with Paris, you don't have to understand fragrances to be able to detect the gorgeous smell of rose. It's almost like rose with a twist, as you get some citrus fragrance, but also some musk. It is elegant and sophisticated, yet shows a bit of sassy fun underneath which I love.

Paris (EDT) usually sells at around £33, but I got it today at Boots in the sale at £22 - it was too good an opportunity to miss, and stock up on one of my favourite fragrances of all time. I get through about 4 of these bottles a year so I'm looking forward to spritzing it on myself in the morning! J'adore Paris!

Phil Smith hair products

22 November 2011

Some of you may remember a couple of months back that I came across a deal for Phil Smith products in Sainsbury's. I was really excited to try these products as they were on deal for 2 for £4, which in my mind is a fab deal for any haircare. I picked up the SOS Daily Defence Conditioner and the Shine Brilliance Shampoo in 250ml bottles.

Phil Smith's motto is 'Be Gorgeous'. It's simple, effective and gets its point across, and quite obviously I was sold! The packaging is bright, garish and in your face, and if it doesn't get your attention I don't know what will. I love the two tone colour scheme!

Shine Brilliance shampoo claims to 'add shine and shimmer to all hair types' with use of 'vitamins and proteins'. Personally, I didn't notice any particular shimmer, but the shine was definitely there and the smell...oh the smell. If you love good smelling shampoos that linger and arn't too fruity, then this is perfect for you. I didn't notice it making my hair greasy or lank either which some shine adding shampoos can do.

SOS Daily Defence conditioner claims to 'restore and protect hair after extensive styling' from the use of 'meadowfoam seed oil'. The conditioner gave its image and concept well with the red and white first aid cross. Much like the shampoo, this conditioner had such a great smell that lingered in your hair all day. I found I had to use quite a bit of the product to get it feeling soft and nourished, but I usually use quite a bit of conditioner on my hair anyway so that might just be me. I had no issues with de-tangling my hair either, which is always a massive bonus.

Overall, I'd have to give a thumbs up to these products. They lasted me ages as the bottles are pretty huge and you get 250mls in each. Each shampoo/conditioner on it's own is £3.99 so to get 2 for £4 was a fabulous deal. Would I buy again? Yes, but probably only if it's on a great deal like it was before.

making memories #3

13 November 2011

001. This photo was taken of me sitting in a tiny derelict old chapel which must be hundreds of years old, which sits at a height on a cliff, very near Rame in Cornwall. You have to leave your car and walk through a field of wild horses to get there, and when you do and you see the sunset, it is one of the most beautiful places.

002. The view from my house back at my parents. You can even see the point of my church in the distance. We get the most beautiful sunsets over our house, with a view that goes for ages. Stunning. I always look forward to popping home and taking some nice photos.

003. My Sailor and I before he left to go somewhere or other! Times are hard in a military but believe me, it is worth it. It honestly is! He is my butter when my bread is dry.

004. My brother and I being papped! I think I was taking him to a function somewhere, I can't remember where, but this has since been one of my fave photos of us. My brother and I aren't the closest, but we do have a laugh and he is ok..sometimes ;)

005. My Sailor is in the middle at the front (with a very serious expression on his face!) Pride is just off the scale when I see all the photos of him on divisions (parade). I definitely wouldn't have him pointing that rifle at me though hah.

Well there you go. None of these photos are from the last month, but they're important memories to me, and I was in a very reflective and thankful mood. Have a truly lovely Sunday, and remember to spare a thought for our fallen heroes today.

A Very Disney Christmas

5 November 2011

I'm sure by now, you all realise that I will never ever grow up and leave my Disney childhood behind. It's my one comfort where I feel safe and secure, and Disney will always be one of my biggest passions. So, it's not really a surprise when I picked up these pyjama bottoms today:

Ok, it is still November, but you'll also be aware by now that I love Christmas and am already very in the mood. I absolutely LOVE these pyjama bottoms. I picked them up from Matalan and they were only £9. They have loads of different Disney style pyjama sets at the moment (as do George at Asda) and they are super warm and snuggly. I always get PJ bottoms a size bigger for extra snuggliness and I am loving them too much! I have never lived as near to a Matalan as I do now, and I'm really starting to love their clothing, and the homeware too - all great value for money!

Does anyone else remember the various Christmas Disney films when they were little? There was Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas, and the Christmas Disney Sing-a-long Songs, but my absolute favourite was 'Mickey's Christmas Carol'. I have managed to locate it on youtube here for anyone who wants to feel nostalgic :)

Have a lovely and safe Bonfire Night all. Guy Fawkes was the only guy who ever entered Parliament with honest intentions so we should celebrate that if not his capture! ;)

midweek mixture

3 November 2011

001. My gorgeous friend Emily from Beauty My Way sent me a lovely parcel the other day. In it was the cutest card and a HUGE Yankee Candle in 'River Valley' which is one of the new fragrances. It was so so sweet of her and I can't stop smelling the candle (she knows how much I adore Yankee Candle!). It was a late present to welcome me into my new flat which was just so sweet. If you don't follow Emily's blog, check it out! She's a babe!

002. Working in a boarding school as a resident member of staff means we get a day off during the week, which is a massive bonus (as we work weekends). I decided to head off to get my Christmas shopping underway, and boy did I do well. I'm not going to say what presents I got in case any of my family reads this (cheeeeky) but I will show you a little something I bought for myself. I popped into Next Home and came across these cute little Christmas figures. There is a Christmas tree, an angel, and a star. They're clear and once turned on, shine different colours. I thought they would look cute on a windowsill or next to my tv, and they were only £3.50 each! They're also in the 3 for 2 deal at the moment :)

003. I had my first Starbucks Christmas drink today! They were released today (yey!) and it's always when I really feel Winter is here. I sat down and had an egg nog latte, and a turkey, bacon and cranberry panini at lunch, and oh my goshhh was it good. I am overjoyed at the return of the red cups!

Is anyone else starting to get excited about Christmas?! I must admit I do get excited reeeally early! It really is starting to feel like Winter. Wrap up warm guys! Bonfire night is almost here!

Chanel No.5

2 November 2011

Ladies, I'm sure we all have our favourite perfumes that we love to spritz and spray to keep us smelling gorgeous. So you'll know the feeling when you start to realise your beloved perfume is nearly running out, and you have to resign yourself to the fact you're going to have to splash the cash and spend out to buy another bottle (similar to seeing the pan in an eyeshadow or bronzer!). My all time favourite fragrance is Chanel's iconic No.5. I went through a faze in my teens where I loved having a huge variety of perfumes on my dresser, but in the last few years, I genuinely only wear a small variety of fragrances, but my favourite, everyday and beloved one is No.5. I have had every type of No.5 available - the body wash, the eau de parfum, the handbag spray..everything. It is one of those fragrances that I just love everything about - even the bottle is just the epitome of class. I love pulling it out of my bag (although my bottle is pretty bruised and battered after much use!)

Apparently, a bottle of Chanel No.5 is sold every 30 seconds - amazing. Now I'm not at all clued up with top notes and base notes and the like, but the fragrance is just gorgeous. Apparently it has top notes of Ylang-Ylang, Neroli and Alderhydes, middle notes of Jasmine and Mayrose, and base. notes of Sandalwood and Vetiver. When I spray the fragrance, to me, it's just like spritzing a blast of 'classy and sexy woman without being too provocative.' Plus, the lasting power on No.5 is incredible.

I don't know what else I can say about this perfume to give it more praise. I need it in my life and always will do. No.5 is quite pricey, but my God you get what you pay for. At £86 for my 100ml bottle, it is not the cheapest fragrance you can buy, but in my eyes it's worth every penny.

Which is your all time favourite fragrance that you can't be without?

29 October 2011

I hardly know where to start with this one! So much to include, so I'm splitting it into a couple of posts so there's not too much of an overload! I'm going to try and include different photos for each post so it's not tooo photo heavy!

My wonderful friend Eve who works with Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model invited me the live event with press passes - excited is not the word! So with two invites, my friend Gemma and I got to ExCeL nice and early on Friday to get involved with everything. After receiving lovely goody bags we headed inside to the show.

Now, the atmosphere of this event was absolutely fantastic. It was packed out to the max, and every stall was busy and bustling. When we got in, Amy Childs was on the Kiss catwalk showing off her new range of clothing with some other models. I didn't personally think I'd like many of the pieces, but I surprised myself and some of the dresses and shirts were really lovely. As much as I'm not a TOWIE fan, she did look lovely! Some of the stalls were pretty average - there were some great stalls such as Lauren's Way, GHD and NYX etc, but there also were some stalls which didn't quite fit in in my opinion. From vintage clothes to boutique jewellery to hair dressers and teeth whiteners - there was something there for everyone, and every stall had a deal to be thrown at you!

The main Live Catwalk was absolutely amazing! The male dancers put on a great show (as well as showing us their lovely bodies!) and the BINTM models strutted their stuff perfectly on the catwalk. Jade, this years winner, stood out a mile - she is absolutely stunning. The whole show was electric!

One of the highlights for me was the lovely VIP area, and the Bloggers Bar that we could just walk straight into, grab some tea or coffee etc..it was all mind-blowing! All of the staff in the Bloggers Bar with the BINTM team were really lovely and friendly. We were very well looked after, and I met some lovely people.

Gemma and I had an amazing time! BINTM Live is a great event with so much to do and see - even after walking around the exhibition about 30 times, we still came across stalls we hadn't seen before! If you went, I hope you had a great time too, and if you didn't..make sure you sort yourself out some tickets for next time :)

Next posts will be about the items I bought! Keep an eye out!

ps: don't forget to check out the Southwest Bloggers Event - I've had some VERY exciting news and the plans are amazing - make sure you sign up if you're interested!

MAC Miss Behave

28 October 2011

The 'Quite Cute' collection from MAC which was out in April this year was one of my favourites. The peaches, pinks, beiges and lilacs were completely up my street and many of the items from the collection became some of my faves, such as the lipstick 'Playing Koi'. I never managed to get my hands on any of the mineralize blushes, but recently I managed to buy one from a blog sale: Miss Behave

It's a gorgeous peachy beige, and the heart is a minty green. I think this actually works better on my skin as a highlighter more than anything. I've been applying the peach as a blush and using the mint heart on my cheekbones, and I think it's working well. The peach is very subtle on my skin, as you can see in the photo, but the mint heart is a gorgeous frost and really gives you a little glow, which I love. Plus, isn't it the cutest blush you've seen?! I think this would be perfect for anyone who has a lighter skintone.

Did anyone else love the Quite Cute collection? I'm trying to find a Playing Koi lipstick around at the moment as I ran out of mine - silly limited edition! If anyone is selling any of their Quite Cute collection, link me up!

Bershka Love

27 October 2011

Bershka is a shop I knew of, but always overlooked. That is until a couple of weekends ago when I went shopping with Abby. She took me in and showed me some great items, and I am now a complete Bershka convert. The prices are low, yet the quality is fantastic - what more could you want from a high street shop?! When I'm teaching, there isn't a Bershka near me, so it's either online shopping (yey for their new online shop!) or Plymouth when I'm down seeing the Sailor.

Here are a couple of items on my wishlist:

Like what you see? Postage is only £3.95 - no excuse not to do a little online shopping! I am buying at least 2 of the 4 items here next week!! I need them in my life asap! Does anyone else love Bershka?

making memories #2

26 October 2011

001. Last night, my boyfriend and I went to see Alfie Boe in Les Miserables. I'd had these tickets booked for about 7 months, so we were both really really excited as we're massive fans, being singers and all! I've lost count of how many times I've seen Les Mis now (I used to go once a month!) and the cast were outstanding. Best I've seen in a long while, but my GOD was Alfie great. We met him outside after the performance and he signed our programme and my fav CD of his that never leaves my car. He was so lovely and had a full on chat with us. Truly made my night!

002. This is my beautiful dog Buzz. 2 weeks ago, my beautiful other dog, Eddie was sadly put down. Something happened in his back and his back legs were suddenly paralysed. There was nothing we could do and I was devastated and rather traumatised at losing my dog, as he really was my dog. I'm just grateful I still have this beauty in my life! It's great being home for a week and walking him. He puts a smile on my face.

003. My boyfriend and I are becoming pretty obsessed with spoiling our hamster, Herbie. We went out to Pets at Home the other day and came back with this huge, rather extravagant climbing frame. So far, she's really enjoying it and is definitely loving the fact it's also an edible climbing frame!

004. There has been so much great music out recently in the charts, but my fave song of October (maybe even this Winter..who knows) is 'Video Games' by Lana Del Ray. The lyrics and simplicity of the song give me chills. I will leave you with the beautiful lyrics of the chorus.

'It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby now you do'
